Currently, my income primarily comes from working as a substitute teacher and selling artwork, as many projects are still in development and revenue is limited. Initially, I believed I could complete these projects quickly, but that has proven to be a challenge.
Because the story is still in development i will keep the place undercover .
During my time in in a certain location, I attempted to create a short film project focusing on conservation, but my emails, phone calls, and in-person visits to the capital were consistently ignored, with officials stating, “there is no need for this film at this time.” Two years later, I am still pursuing this project. The state controls the land where many conservation organizations operate, requiring them to obtain media releases for interviews. I have visited the capital, where the media director from the state literally hides in his office, ignoring emails and calls. Where one day when i attempted to speak with the media director he was not in and a person from his office offered to give me his home address and visit him.
In contrast, I’ve found greater success with my Tonga project, where I only need one more island visit to gather interviews and film material.
Following that, my next endeavor will take place in the Marshall Islands.
Growing up, I often listened to directors' commentaries on films. Whenever I heard that some projects take three years to complete, I thought there was no way it could take me that long. Yet, in the case of Hawai’i, this has indeed been the reality. Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that I can finalize several projects in development this year and prepare them for presentation.
Thank you
